Covered or not?  Approved 3 CEs in NJ.  Steve Lyon, CPCU, Lyon Consulting Services

This class goes beyond the reading of the terms, conditions and exclusions in Personal and Commercial lines policies, to explore their applicability in real life claim situations. The class will be centered on interpreting and determining coverage for variety of misunderstood claims situations presented in question format.  The questions come from real claims submitted by insureds and the answers from seasoned claims adjusters may very well surprise you! Come and see what coverage is hidden in some of our most commonly used policies.

2013 ISO Commercial Property/ CGL Revisions - Filed for 3 CEs  Robert Olausen, William Mauro, ISO; Art Flitner, CPCU, The Institutes

This session will explain the 2013 revisions to the ISO 2013 Commercial Property/General Liability program. It will allow participants to effectively explain to customers and colleagues how the forms have changes as well as understand how the changes will affect claims settlements. Cyber related exposures will also be reviewed.

9:30 - 11:30

NFIP Updates/ Flood Preparedness - Filed for 2 CEs  Rachel Hogan Carr, Nurture Nature Center; Maureen Brown, CPCU. Munich Re

The first half of this session will discuss methods and strategies for communicating flood risk messages to the public, and will discuss the ways in which communities can change the way they speak about their own flood risk, in order to reduce flood losses. The second half of the session will review basic concepts of flood insurance, coverage available through the NFIP and address the changes and the challenges of implementing some of the changes required under the Biggert-Waters Act.
