In 1987 March was officially named Women's History Month. The month has been set aside to highlight the many contributions of women in society. From practical everyday inventions like the creation of the disposable diaper, first created by Marion Donovan in 1946, (whose design was subsequently perfected by women) to Mary Anderson who’s credited for inventing the first functional windshield wiper in 1903, the contributions of women have been pivotal in shaping our everyday society. Women have blazed the trail of professional pursuits spanning an array of careers including scientists, educators, government leaders, corporate boardrooms, athletes, designers, film directors and performers. Please take a moment to recognize the challenges and accomplishments of women over time.
