Scholarship Committee

From the Scholarship Committee Chair

The CPCU Society, with more than 37,000 members nationwide, promotes continuing education, professionalism, research, high ethical standards, and community service by property-casualty insurance professionals.  Society members have earned the prestigious CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) designation conferred by The Institutes have industry expertise, and pledge to abide by an enforceable code of professional ethics.

The CPCU Society New Jersey Chapter has a Scholarship Program which offers two $1,000 scholarship to students whose curriculum represents the disciplines from which the industry draws employees.

There is a simple application which includes a brief synopsis of the applicant's interests which might be related to insurance, risk management, business or related fields.  Application deadlines are July 1 for September semester and October 1 for January semester.

The National CPCU Society has a complimentary program underwritten by the Loman Foundation that frequently will match awards granted by the New Jersey Chapter.  Eligible awards by the New Jersey Chapter will automatically be forwarded to the Loman Foundation for their consideration.

The scholarship application is found here and on the left-hand side of this webpage.  The application is a Word 97-2003 document.  Upon completing the application, please follow the instructions to e-mail it to me.

Should you have any questions, please contact me.

Sincerely,

Sue C. Quimby, CPCU
